Somalia faces escalating climate crises with recurring droughts, catastrophic floods, and unpredictable weather patterns that threaten livelihoods and exacerbate poverty. Solutions For Somalia will implement climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction initiatives that build community resilience and protect vulnerable populations.
Our interventions include promoting climate-smart agriculture, water harvesting systems, and early warning mechanisms for disaster preparedness. We will conduct community awareness campaigns on climate change impacts and conduct training on sustainable land management, rangeland conservation, and alternative livelihood options resilient to climate shocks. Youth will be engaged in environmental restoration projects including reforestation and wetland rehabilitation. By integrating climate action with livelihood diversification and social protection programs, we address both immediate humanitarian needs and long-term adaptation, ensuring communities can withstand climate variability while building sustainable futures.
